I woke up this morning and it finally hit me, tomorrow I leave for Montreal! Oh my goodness I'm so excited! This past weekend was packed full with shoots, assisting at a wedding, dinner with family and friends, and day dreaming about the week ahead!

Once my flight was booked a month ago I started brushing up on my French, but I quickly realized that I needed to start at the beginning, meaning I can pretty much say "un garcon" which won't help me much, unless I'm wanting to adopt a little French boy. Which I don't! But I'm so looking forward to being immersed in the Quebec French language and culture - Poutine and bagels heck ya!

Today I've mentally listed the clothes I want to pack, which shoes to bring, what songs to import onto my iPod, and which book to throw into my carry-on. But once I thought about my carry-on I started to get a little nervous, cause you see I want to take a few things with me in it, but those things are quite heavy. Like my camera, laptop, particular lenses, plus you know the other things you need to get you through a 5 hour flight! And the carry-on I was going to take, I can hardly lift it into the back of the car, let alone over my head to put in a compartment in an airplane!

Then I thought, I'll just have Adam help me! But then again, I stopped on that thought too, cause this is the first time I'll be flying solo...ever! Adam is my travel partner, the one who I wake up to entertain me, who talks me through turbulence, and who gives up his window seat so I can watch the world fly by! Umm, who's going to give up their window seat for some girl who can't even deal with her own carry-on! I'm so doomed!

But I just have to remember that on the other end of the flight I'll be picked up by some awesome friends and we're going to have a week full of fun and adventure. I just hope they know that I have my little heart set on some Gnocchi Poutine at the Macaroni Bar!

Here are some photos from our trip to Montreal last year which I completely forgot to blog!

Edit: Just checked in for my flight, and I got a window seat!!!

You'll do just fine! I'm incredibly jealous that you get to go to Montreal. It's gotta be one of my favourite cities in the world. Make sure you have some legit poutine for me haha! Have a great flight and shooting!

This is the third time I've had the pleasure of photographing Ashlynn, and each time I do, I feel so blessed that I was given another opportunity to get to know her better.

Ashlynn graduated high school this year and was nominated by her sister for the photo shoot with The Celebration Project, and mentioned how proud she was the Ashlynn made it to this point and knew she would be the perfect candidate for us, and was she ever!

Ashlynn was simply beautiful, pulling off a wonderful Hollywood Glam with a black dress that had a deep v in the back that I quickly became excited over, and her hair, by Chelsea, was just perfect for the look!

Ashlynn, I'm so proud of you and wish you much success in the future, I know you're going to do fabulous thing!

Meet the beautiful and glamorous Ashlynn:

And, of course, the video!!

A little while ago I told you about Celebration Project and how we were accepting nominations for girls who you thought deserved to be pampered and have a fashion inspired photo shoot. Sherry was nominated by her friend who told us that Sherry had enrolled herself in a academic intense program and overcame hurdles by persevering and pushing through her academic high school career.

Sherry was so cute when we first met her, a little shy wondering what we were going to be like and what we were going to do to her. But the moment she saw herself in the mirror after having her hair and make up done by Chelsea she completely came out of her shell and showed us how cute and adorable she was! I just wanted to squish her the whole time!

Meet the wonderful and beautiful Sherry!

Celebration Project was put together by myself and the amazing Many Jill and Chelsea Banwell, and I loved working with them every minute of it!

I have been waiting to shoot this little girl for quite some time, and I was so excited when I heard from her mom that the day had finally come! Miss Nolah took awhile to enter into this world, as she seemed quite content in her little space that eventually the doctor's took it upon themselves to have her greet the world on their terms. And her parent's couldn't be more happy that she agreed!

Meet Miss Nolah:

These two have known each other since they were little, like little little, and used to play in each others back yard when Kelly would visit from Port Alberni, playing tag, water guns, and probably a whole lot of teasing and little kid flirting in between. Eventually Kelly stopped visiting during the summers, but one summer while she was in University she went and visited her cousin and met Kevin, again, and she was smitten and came up with every excuse to travel back to see him.

Kelly told me all about him while we sat with cafeteria fries between us, telling me that she thought he was the most sexiest guy she had ever met; that he was buff, and taller then her, and made her feel so special! And from that moment us roommates would trade off driving her to the ferry terminal cause every two weeks she would travel the distance between them to visit him, cause her life was better with him in it! Soon she graduated and moved to Vancouver to be closer to him.

And then he proposed, and they said "I do" on a beautiful August day a couple years ago, and are still as in love as those first few months of our university days.

Meet the wonderful Kelly + Kevin!

I don't do slide shows that often, but this song reminded me of their relationship and knew I had to do one.
