Family Lifestyle Session: Danusia, Dariusz + Oliwer
I am truly blessed! This family has blessed me with their kindness, their thoughtfulness, and their willingness. Adam and I met Danunsia and her family a year or so ago when we walked into their store on Robson Street. We found out they were Polish and I think we both felt an instant connection to them.
I didn’t really start talking with Danusia until I started walking into her store week after week. We chatted about weddings, honeymoons, the ups and downs of running a business, and family. I told her I had started a photography business specializing in children and families and we decided to do a session together. We decided to meet at park beside the Port Mann bridge in Surrey. Now if you know anything about this park you’ll know that it used to be the lower mainland’s garbage dump. I was a little nervous she wouldn’t go for the idea, but she said yes and I so happy we went there! So much space, beautiful scenery, and a hike up the hill means we got some exercise in as well!
Here is Danusia, Dariusz, and Oliwer (pronounced Oliver)!

Danusia and Dariusz’s 2 year old son Oliwer only speaks Polish at the moment so I decided to bring Adam along for the session so that Oliwer would feel more comfortable - and Oliwer fell in love with Adam. I think Oliwer wanted to spend more time with Adam then with his parents or with me.

There is something I just adore about working with children who are in between 18months and 24months. They like to copy everything you do. Here anytime I would spend a little time with Oliwer, he would do what I was doing, which obviously was squatting so I could get down to his level.

We gave Oliwer the chance to play with the suitcase I brought - he was pretty determined to carry it!

Danusia and Dariusz, thank you for giving me the privilage of photographing your family, I enjoyed every moment of it! Until we meet again!
