Family Session: Danielle + Shawn

I have been praying this day would come, and I feel so blessed that it is finally here. Awhile ago while making some goals for Adley Studio I wrote down that I wanted to take photos of this family while they visted Vancouver as well as take their photos in their hometown of Chicago. Now get to cross half of it off my list!

Danielle is one of my life long friends who I cherish very very much. We’ve known each other since we were 13 attending the same church and high school. She was my ‘french tutor’ during times when I was grounded and was only allowed out of the house when I was being ‘tutored’ (esquires coffee and English conversation sure didn’t help my french any!), my transportation when I forgot to purchase new bus passes, and my late night “lets eat ice cream” partner. Even though she lives in Chicago now and only comes back to visit a few times a year she is my cheerleader, my random post card in the mail saying “I’m thinking of you!”, a kindred spirit, and always one of my best friends.

When Danielle mentioned on Facebook a couple of weeks ago that she and her family were flying into town, I told her we had to get together. Thankfully we did one better where I got to hang out with the whole family and also take their photos!

Sam has met me a few times, but he wasn’t too sure about me and my camera.  This was the first shot of the day.

Thankfully he warmed up to me so we could get these.

Danielle + Shawn it was a pleasure catching up and touring around Vancouver together.  Hopefully next time we’ll be in Chicago together!
