I usually think of the best blog posts when I’m laying down about to fall asleep. I lay there with my mind going a million miles a minute thinking about anything and everything, and then a battle in my head starts:
One side of Brain: “I should get up and write this all down”
Other side: “But I just got into bed”
One side: “I think…I think the best at night, I should really get out of bed”
Other side: “But it’s cold out there”
One side: “Ugh, by tomorrow I’m going to forget it all, I should really get up”
Other side: “But you were so tired before, so stay in bed”.
And it continues until I eventually fall asleep. It can get rather frustrating. Since I am not a morning person at all (it takes me at least 2 hours to wake up in the morning to have a functioning conversation) that staying up late doesn’t work that well when I still have to get up early the next day. The afternoons can be rather draining and then by night time I just feel physically and mentally exhausted that by 11pm I’m ready for bed. Plus, I’ve been prescribed to make sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep a night so that I don’t trigger my insomnia. So even though I’m tried as a heavy bag of potatoes and finally drag myself into bed, my mind refuses to shut off.
No wonder I deal with insomnia.
So all of this was to say I had this amazing blog post all ready in my head to go along with these photos…and I forgot it all.
So, these photos are a continuation of my other Fashion Photography post. But these are my favorite favorite photos. I had the opportunity to work with a professional fashion photographer, and it became this amazing one-on-one session while coming up with lighting ideas and seeing how he works and directs. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with him, even it was only 20 minutes, I learned so much!
A Lighting technique to get crisp sharp shadows on the wall.

Working with one diffused light….my favorite photos right here!

After setting up the shot on the left we found a Calvin Klien ad very similar to it.

I had so much fun working in the studio and with lights….I can’t wait to play again!
